SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Lincoln Land Championship has launched volunteer registration for the 2018 tournament to be held June 25- July 1 at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield. More than 300 volunteers are needed to assist with event setup and tear down, gates, scoring, parking, and on-course marshalling leading up to and throughout the tournament.
“It’s exciting to launch volunteer registration because it means the tournament is right around the corner. We need hundreds of volunteers to make sure everything goes smoothly,” Executive Director, Kate Peters said. “As the only PGA Tour sanctioned tournament in downstate Illinois, we offer a unique opportunity for volunteers to get inside the ropes. Our volunteer numbers were fantastic in 2017 so I would encourage those with interest to sign up early to secure their preferred placements.”
There are more than 20 committees that volunteers can sign up to help assist. Volunteers can work as many or few shifts as their schedule allows and do not need to have knowledge of the game of golf to volunteer. Volunteers are needed as early as June 19 for advance week through the last day of the tournament July 1st. Volunteers who sign up by March 31st will receive a $5 discount on the registration fee. For more information or to sign up, visit www.LincolnLandChampionship.com or call the tournament office at (217) 670-2910 and ask for Tanya Cooper.
